Basically, you should try to become a mentor. Who is a mentor? A mentor is a guide, a leader trusted by all and one to whom all owe their loyalty. He is a father figure, a person who is mature and wise. Start with your family. Spend more time with the family members. Eat at least one meal together. That meal all should know what is happening to the other and share both joy and sadness. True Christian Groups will have you, the father leading from up front, by example. Your kids are watching and absorbing all the time. You as their mentor should love them. Don’t be afraid to show affection. Hug them. Have respect for your wife. Your children will grow up with similar values for their spouses. But, you must discipline them as well.
Disciplining is one of your essential roles. Children have to be shown their boundaries, their limits in which they have to perform. Do this with love, with the intention of guiding them. Be their best friend.

Loving and serving others shows that we love God. We are to believe in God (meaning have faith and believe what He has said in the Bible) and then we are to implement that faith in our life by obeying it.
The Christian should love because this is the only way that we can live in harmony and in peace with our family, friends and neighbors. Also, this is the only tools and weapon that we can have to be able to overcome evil with good!
Romans 12: 9-21 clearly explained what love means is and what God urge us to do to others. Love must be sincere.
Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.
Honor one another above yourselves.
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.
Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay.” Says the Lord.
The writer firmly believed that actions speak louder than words. It means through showing our love and concern to others is one way of proving that God is love not only just by preaching without doing, for now a days people or our neighbor sometimes focus on how we live than what we said. Thus doing God’s commandment and obeying means we are helping to spread the Gospel or Good News of God’s love in the whole world especially if you don’t have the talent of preaching!
We must always be remember, the clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop; at late or early hour. Now is the only time you own. Live, love, work with a will. Place no faith in tomorrow, for the clock of life may then be still.

Christian living is well brought out in Christian news. Let us see the various faces of a Christian. We have one who is a regular churchgoer, who reads the bible every day sings in choirs and interacts with other fellow Christians. Truly in communion with God he finds time to spend in introspective meditation. He represents the group of actively practicing Christians.
Christian news will also tell you of the other group of Christians who are pragmatic, regular churchgoers but nothing beyond that. He is not active in furthering his spirituality. He is too caught up in the rat race to spend any quality time in either reading the Bible or meditation. He also refuses to differentiate among various forms of religion.
These are the two ends of the spectrum of our Christian brethren. Within these two extremes all the others can perhaps be accommodated. So what seems to be the problem? A look at Christian personals is indicative of the growing disenchantment of the average Christian with the church. The general feeling is that the church no longer addresses personal causes and problems and that the church is no longer in sync with the populace. The spirituality aspect of the church finds takers but not the equally important aspects of Christian thoughts, religious books and music.
